The menus of the AWD Restaurant Week are mouthwateringly good Print E-mail

We predict that many people will be having a hard time choosing where to dine during the upcoming Restaurant Week, which is held from August 28 – September 4.

The second edition of the great event promises to make regulars from walk-ins and it will surely attract a good number of new fans of the Aruba Wine And Dine restaurants Salt & Pepper, Tango Argentine Grill, Fishes & More, Hadicurari, Café the Plaza and MooMba Beach. The menus are mouthwateringly good and the price can’t be beaten: one pays just AWG. 45,-- for a three-course meal! With 1000 Fun Miles it’s even less, just AWG. 25,--.

Salt & Pepper is offering a choice between potato bacon soup or a classic-style ceviche; the entrée options are a mixed grill with a red wine sauce or lasagna, while dessert presents the difficult choice between chocolate cake or quesillo.

Tango Argentine Grill is following suit with a chorizo served with chimichurri or fried calamari with a spicy marinara sauce. Entrees are either bacon-wrapped tenderloin or fettuccine Aragosta. Dessert is easy and irresistible: grand, and consisting of chocolate cake, scoppino and cheesecake.

At Hadicurari one gets treated to tuna tartare with smoked mayonnaise or fish soup, mahi-mahi with a lime, onion and pepper salsa or surf & turf with pico de gallo. Dessert is either a flan with caramelized fruit or a chocolate mousse with Bailey’s sauce.

Guests at MooMba Beach won’t be disappointed with what’s offered there: thinly sliced beef tataky served with wakame, masago, ginger and a soy lime dip or yellow fin tuna carpaccio, served with roasted tomatoes, mango chutney and an arrugola salad topped with virgin olive oil and lime. The entrees are either grilled sword fish served with grilled vegetables and a creamy Cajun sauce or roasted skirt steak served with mashed potatoes and a thyme-sherry sauce. Dessert is either a tropical fruit salad, served with a Jamaican rum sauce and banana ice cream or chocolate delight served with marinated strawberries and citrus syrup.

Café the Plaza is whipping up a classic Caesar salad or soup of the day before diners are served either a sirloin steak with sautéed vegetables, served with a port wine sauce or a pan-fried red snapper with vegetables and a creamy scallop sauce. Dessert is a home-made banana cake served with a scoop of banana ice cream or a home-made cheesecake served with a shot of Baileys.

On with Fishes and More, where the Arawak Garden Salad vies for attention with the black tiger shrimp served in a creamy garlic sauce with Parmesan cheese. Entrees at Fishes and More are either red snapper with a skewer of shrimps served with a Creole sauce or fettuccine Alfredo prepared the classic way with chicken breast. Dessert is profiteroles with a chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream or apfelstrudel à la mode.

The Aruba Wine And Dine Restaurant Week is held from August 28 until September 4. Reservations can already be made at the various restaurants. Part of the Restaurant Week’s profits will go towards Aruba’s elderly at the Maris Stella home in Savaneta.
